Pricing and trial

What the trial covers, what happens when it ends, and how to upgrade.

The trial

Signing in starts a seven day trial, counted from the day you signed up rather than from when you installed the app. During the trial everything works, including export and sharing, with no watermark on anything you export.

The sidebar of the app window shows how many days are left.

When it ends

Recording and editing keep working. Exporting asks you to upgrade.

The upgrade dialog shown when the trial has ended

Everything you have already exported stays on your Mac, and every recording stays editable.

Upgrading

Upgrade opens prequel.sh in your browser. Once you have paid, the app picks up the licence by itself the next time it checks, which happens at launch and when you export. Billing in the sidebar's account menu opens the same page.

Current prices are on the pricing page.

Offline

The licence is checked with prequel.sh. If you are signed in and the Mac is offline when you export, the app lets the export run rather than refusing on a check it could not make.
